Hall County 4-H Horse Club information

Hall County 4-H Horse Club General Information

The 4-H horse club members are between the ages of 9-19 years. The club consists of horse and non-horse owners. The purpose of the club is to have the members grow and learn more about horses through the various activities we participate in while developing skills in public speaking, leadership, citizenship as well as life skills.  Youth are involved in the leadership roles of the club. We also have a good time while we are learning about horses. There are varying levels of skill within the club that gives the pre-beginner to advanced rider some expertise to learn from.

Meetings begin at 6:00 pm and are generally held at Holly Valley Equestrian Center in Clermont the first Tuesday of each month during the school year. Our meetings consist of a business meeting, an educational program which is very often a hands on program, and member demonstrations. There is a once a year club fee of $25.00 that helps cover the cost of horse club t-shirts, insurance and some activity fees. Parent volunteers are essential to our success! Parents will be asked to assist with events and fundraisers.

We hold horse shows twice a year at Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center, The Hall Equine Classic Horse Shows. Our members compete in these shows as well as volunteer as these shows are fund raisers for our club. Club members and parents can help in the office, setting up jumps, working entry and exit gates, or passing out awards.
